To be a world renowned outdoor and environmental education centre that helps in developing responsible citizens by exploring and celebrating the Himalayan environment through physical activity, art, literature, environmental ethics and leadership training.
The curriculum at the Hanifl Centre is best described as dynamic.
Lessons come to life as students make direct contact with their subjects and studies. Resources for classroom study include maps, subject-specific texts, audiovisual material, scientific equipment, and information technology. Outside of the classroom, students develop projects, take part in nature hikes and participate in local field trips.
Hanifl Centre actively engages with local communities in service learning projects and outdoor leadership training for youth.
The Hanifl Centre staff act as consultants to Woodstock School staff across disciplines to develop appropriate experiential learning opportunities. In addition to building a resource of teaching materials, the centre staff network with experts from outside the school to provide curricular enrichment.
The Hanifl Centre is an Outreach of Woodstock School, celebrating 161 years in the Himalayas.
